When something has not been provided, observed, or confirmed, it should remain unknown rather than being filled in with a confident-sounding guess.
An honest “we don't know yet” is better than a wrong answer.
Guidance, not certainty
AI can be useful without pretending to know more than it does.
Lomnera's explanations are informational guidance, not professional certifications or guarantees. Cost information is intended for planning, not as a contractor quote. Visual analysis can help identify possibilities and next steps, but a photograph alone cannot establish every condition hidden inside a home.
When professional evaluation is appropriate, Lomnera should make that clear.

Built from real-world home experience
Lomnera was founded by Charlie Maison, a certified home inspector and licensed real estate professional.
After years working across residential inspections and real estate transactions, he saw the same problem from different sides: people were often given plenty of information about a home but very little help understanding what actually mattered.
Minor findings could create unnecessary alarm. Important problems could be overlooked. Repairs could be approved without a clear understanding of whether they were necessary. Inspection reports could contain valuable information and then disappear into a folder after closing.
That experience shaped Lomnera's approach: make complicated home information easier to understand while respecting the limits of software and the role of qualified professionals.
